Men swarmed over hunting and fishing displays and enjoyed a wild game dinner followed by special guest, David Blanton. Everything from bow hunting to fishing lures to demonstrations on turkey calling were on display for hunting and fishing enthusiasts and their children.
Attendees from all over the Mid-South were wowed by incredible presentations by professional fishermen and hunters. Those hungry from looking through all of the exhibits roamed to the gymnasium for a wild game dinner of smoked venison, chicken, ham, and turkey cooked to perfection.
“It’s not about big bucks, it’s not about big bass, it’s not about friends, it’s not about money,” David Blanton, producer of ESPN2’s Realtree Outdoors, told the crowd of 2,000 men gathered in Bellevue’s Worship Center. “I had kicked Jesus out of my life.”
Blanton told of how his selfish focus on his TV show brought his marriage to a crisis. But God met them at their point of crisis and, with a renewed focus on Christ, their marriage was restored. “God helped me put my priorities back in order.”
Pastor Steve Gaines followed David Blanton with an invitation, and 53 men indicated they prayed to receive Christ while 147 rededicated their lives to Christ.
