Mike & Amy Wages
Room E332

The Wages Life Group is made up of approximately 20 couples in their 30s and 40s. Most have 2 or 3 kids that age from newborn to college. Each class begins with a time with small groups where they are transparent in sharing praises and prayer requests. The class then comes together with an interactive lesson where class members participate through conversation and by reading Bible verses. Lessons are usually based on a topical sermon series. Recent lessons have included women in the Bible, the lives of the disciples, the art of marriage. The Life Group is built around Acts 2:42, devoting themselves “to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” They rally around each other, rejoice with each other, and are committed to strengthening and protecting their families by training, encouraging, and motivating individuals to be better husbands, wives, and parents through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Different class members get together to serve weekly in a childcare class, quarterly with Bellevue Loves Memphis, or even go on annual international mission trips. They find creative ways to fellowship and support each other. Examples include class parties, pot luck breakfast during 5th Sunday, breaking off in small groups for lunch, participating in “secret sisters” gift exchange, class parties, and even paint ball and go carts. They’d love to have visitors or those who haven’t found their fit in a life group. Mike & Amy have been married since 2000 and have two daughters. Mike is a CPA and Amy is a stay-at-home mom.
