A recent survey of 63,000 teenagers revealed that teens today “feel significantly more isolated, misunderstood, and emotionally sensitive or unstable compared to decades past.” The study also revealed teenagers today are more prone to be “narcissistic, have low self-control, and express feelings of worry, sadness, and dissatisfaction with life.”

Based on these findings, it is important for parents to be able to acknowledge, recognize, and act on these characteristics being expressed in their child’s life.
