As we transition to some semblance of normal, we continue to spread hope in our city through our upcoming Bellevue Loves Memphis Workday. For the last few weeks, we have celebrated testimonies of faith and international missions, and today we look forward to local opportunities to engage in the Missionary Task, together.
Ross McGregor, Bellevue’s Minister of Local Missions, shared his department’s excitement about what God is doing in our city. Over the last year, we have seen God move through Bellevue Loves Memphis Workdays, partnerships with local organizations, and opportunities to Serve our Memphis brothers and sisters regularly.
“In August and October, Bellevue Loves Memphis Workdays looked similar to our upcoming May 1 Workday,” he said. “However, for many of our partners, this will be the first time since the beginning of the pandemic that they are utilizing groups of volunteers to continue the work of their ministry. I think it is a perfect opportunity to remind our partners and our city that Bellevue still cares for them and will Serve in any way we can to meet their needs.”
Local, national, and international missions may have been affected in 2020, but in spite of those challenges, God’s faithfulness allows us to continue serving and engaging in local witnessing opportunities. Ross encouraged Bellevue members to take opportunities to Share Jesus and pray for unity and healing in our city no matter the circumstances or relevant challenges.
“As our city is moving out of the pandemic, there is hope,” Ross shared. “But there is also so much hurt that needs healing. These Workdays are a great first step toward healing the hurt of our city at large.”
“Find a need and meet it. Find a hurt and heal it.” —Pastor Steve Gaines
