Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect.

Deacon Nominations 2021
The Prospective Deacon Interview Committee is preparing to receive nominations and interview prospective new and returning deacons for the 2021 calendar year. The Committee has been asked, along with our members, to pray and seek God’s guidance for men who could represent our Lord and serve under the leadership of our Pastor at Bellevue Baptist Church as deacons next year.
If you know a man who meets the spiritual qualifications outlined in the “Qualifications of an Active Bellevue Deacon” and who will commit to faithful service, you are invited to submit his name for consideration by the Committee.
Bellevue members can nominate someone in the following ways:
- Click Here to complete an Online Nomintion Form.
- Printed Nomination forms are available in the West, East and South Lobbies. Please drop the completed form in any offering box.
The following timetable for the nomination process has been established to allow time for the election, ordination, and training of new deacons:
- Deacon candidates will be interviewed in August and September.
- In October, new deacons will be ordained and begin their training, so they will be well equipped to serve in 2021.
Nominations will end on August 2, 2020.
