Talking Points
Get wild on this week’s family adventure by taking a trip to the Memphis Zoo! As you look at the animals, point out all the different countries that are represented. Explore the exhibits and see if your kids can identify the animal that is farthest from its natural home (Golden Pheasant). Note how there are many different habitats the creatures live in, and each is unique to how the animal is created.
Connect this to how God made all of us different and has placed us in various countries by His good plan. People look, talk, and eat differently based on where they are from. Highlight that, while people from different parts of the world may live differently than us, they still are all made by God. Since all people are made by God, they can be a part of God’s family when they decide to believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Although we meet in a church building, the Church is made up of anyone who has ever believed in God, which means it has people from all over the world in it. Isn’t it exciting that we get to be a part of a Church of believers from all over the world? One day in Heaven, we will get to meet all the believers of the Church!

Missions Tie-In
The animals at the Memphis Zoo come from every corner of the globe! Memphis is home to many people from many different places. This creates a great way for you to learn about other cultures and backgrounds. As you are walking around the zoo today, talk about where the animals are from. As you think about the various countries these animals come from, pray for the people living in those countries! Also, pray that God will send more missionaries to these places because many of the people living there have never heard of Jesus.
Tips
There is a $10 fee for parking unless you are a member. Entry is free on Tuesdays after 2:00 p.m. Check out the Zoo's prices and plan your day at memphiszoo.org.
