House Person, Front of House
CulinaryMajor Duties
Assist Culinary Ministry in the setup, teardown, and cleanup of all events for Bellevue Baptist Church, including catered and conference events inside or outside of the main building.
Specific Tasks
- Clean all areas and venues after an event and reset for the next event.
- Take care of all linen appropriately.
- Set up rooms for events that involve Culinary, which includes the following tasks:
- Setting up all tables and chairs.
- Covering tables with linens when appropriate.
- Emptying all trash cans and replacing with new bags.
- Vacuuming rooms.
- Setting tables for banquets and dinners.
- Cleaning hard service floors.
- Cleaning and maintaining drink closets.
- Assisting in the dish room.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by the Culinary Manager.

Days and Hours
The employee will work an average of two days a week. He or she must be able to adapt to changes in the weekly schedule with short notice as needed.

Safety and Ergonomic Issues
This job requires heavy lifting, long periods of standing, and the ability to move unbalanced equipment.
Work Environment
There will be some early or late starting times. The work environment can be very loud at times and extremely crowded. The employee will work closely with Culinary staff as well as church members and volunteers.

Food service experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Abilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. There are long periods of standing and walking. The employee must frequently walk while transporting equipment and frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds from one area to another, including up stairways. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
Extreme temperature changes from below freezing to high heat. Some slippery and wet conditions. Workload varies daily from low to extremely high. The employee will regularly handle equipment and utensils.
