Music Composition/Songwriting

About

Students interested in composing, writing, arranging, and/or creating music would benefit from private Composition/Songwriting lessons. Whether you know much about music or very little, we can take you where you are and move you forward from there. Instruction will be tailored to the student’s interests and goals, but in all cases, we will help students understand the building blocks of music while also unleashing their creativity in a positive and encouraging way. God made us to be creative, so we want to give you the tools to express yourself and bless others with your music.

Jonathan Glisson

Jonathan has a rich musical background as a composer, producer, and performer. His proficiency in piano, guitar, and drums has enabled him to perform in highly skilled chamber group settings as well as in large-scale musical productions. Because of this diversity of experience, he has been able to work with musical styles ranging from pop tunes to cinematic scores. His award-winning compositions have been featured in live performances, film, video games, and more. In addition, he writes worship songs and arrangements that are actively sung in several local churches.

Jonathan has taught music since 2010 and has been with the Bellevue School of Performing Arts since the Fall of 2016. His passion has been to help his students reach their goals, whether they be developing instrumental skills, pursuing music academically, composing for various media, or getting published on platforms such as iTunes and Spotify.

Jonathan has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition from the University of Memphis, with an emphasis on piano performance, and a Master of Theological Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He currently resides with his wife Becca and son Jacob in Millington, TN, where he serves as the Minister of Worship at Lucy Baptist Church.
