Be willing to let people walk away. Not everyone will be won over.
Three Questions to Ask when Managing Change
1st question: Why am I doing this? Will I lead for God’s glory or for my own?
2nd question: What’s going on here?
Is the ministry broken or thriving or maintaining? Did the previous person get fired or promoted or leave? Are the volunteers power-hungry or supportive or indifferent?
3rd question: Where are we going?
Determine your top priorities. Determine your plan.
Three recommendations for when it is time to implement your vision:
- Be patient.
- Start small.
- Be willing to let people walk away.
