Jessica is an early thirties single mom who has been battling colon cancer for three years. She is very strong in her faith and frankly a warrior, but she’s worn out, out of FMLA, exhausted of resources, and visibly torn down from chemo and life. She does have a good job, but the battle has been long and the system has expended all available resources.
Her daughter Vanessa (12) has had a grand mal seizure and is unresponsive. She woke in the hospital the next day confused and weak and was sent home (by insurance). Jessica is clearly a mess. She messaged again last night that she had another seizure around 5:30 am. She is waiting to get in for more testing from Children's Hospital on the 15th. I don’t think Jessica has slept in a week now. Vanessa for her part is embarrassed, upset that her life isn’t allowed devices or bright lights now, and scared.
Please lift the family up in prayers for healing and provision. Jessica, Vanessa, and Gavin
