UPDATE: Please continue to pray for the judge’s decision in my self-defense hearing held on January 30, 2020. He originally asked for 10 days to make a ruling, but he has still not given a decision as of Aug. 5th. The hearing on Jan. 30th was very favorable for me. Original Request below. Please pray for me, I am a 73-yr. old minister, husband, father and grandfather with no criminal history. I was charged with murder and assault after being forced to defend my life against a knife-attack at a laundromat in Nov. 2017. The 65-yr old man (the deceased) that attacked me had a long 26-year violent criminal history including manslaughter and was accompanied by a female companion who joined him in the attack. I hoped to share the Gospel with the man when I observed him loitering, harassing others, and making negative comments about race relations, but I never got the opportunity. Since a work-related injury left me with some disability, I am licensed to carry a firearm (which I usually don’t carry); but I did have it that day and was forced to use it. Pray for The Lord's Mercy and Favor, this has been a long, nearly 3-year battle and difficult on the entire family, however we are steadfast in our Faith.
