Who will be directing the Concert Band?

What time will band meet?
Mondays and Wednesdays 3:00-4:00. Concert band will meet 15 weeks in the Fall semester and 15 weeks in the Spring semester.
Who can participate in Concert Band?
Concert Band is open to homeschool students 5th grade and up. No prior music education or experience is required.
How much does it cost?
$300/year | $25 Registration Fee due once per academic year
Where does Concert Band rehearse?
Concert Band will meet in the Orchestra room.
How does my student choose and instrument?
Students will select, with the help of the director, an instrument that is of interest to them.
Instruments available are:
Woodwinds: Clarinet, Flute, Alto or Tenor Saxophone
Brass: Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba
Percussion: Drums, Bells
How does my student get his/her instrument?
Band instruments may be rented or purchased from Amro Music or Lane Music. Used instruments found in the paper, or from home may be used with director approval. We do not recommend purchasing an instrument out of a department store catalog, discount store, or eBay.
Will my student perform?
Yes, at least one in the Fall and one in the Spring. Other performance such as nursing homes will be up to the director. In time, this band will participate in concert festival in the Spring.
Can my student participate/audition in any Honor Bands?
Concert Band students will be eligible for WTSBOA events such as All West, All State, and Solo and Ensemble.
