Intro to theatre (Drama)
Who will be directing the Intro to Theatre class?
René Cave is excited to be joining Bellevue’s School of Performing Arts. She has spent more than 35 years teaching and directing. She has a Bachelors of Arts degree in Theatre and Communication Arts from the University of Memphis. Most recently, she taught middle school drama in the classroom for 16 years and directed shows for middle and upper school at Evangelical Christian School. She has taught or directed more than 1500 students. She has directed at Central Church, Grace Evangelical Church, Briarcrest High School, all ECS campuses, and various performing arts studios. She has been nominated twice for “Best Director” for the Orpheum’s High School Musical Theatre Awards. René has a deep love for her students and says that creating excellent art for the glory of God is always her ultimate goal.
What time will the class meet?
One 50 minute class Per week:
Junior High (6th-8th): Thursdays 2:30 – 3:20
High School (9th-12th): Thursdays 3:40 – 4:30
The class will meet 15 weeks in the Fall semester and 15 weeks in the Spring semester. The Fall Semester will begin August 19th, 2019 and end November 20th, 2019.
Who can participate in the Intro the Theatre class?
It is open to students 7th–12th grades who are interested in developing or growing theatre skills.
How much does it cost?
$200/semester (no activity fee, no registration fee).
Where does the class meet?
In Bellevue’s Choir Room. (enter through the West Lobby, walk to the left of the large staircase, and go straight through the hallways in front of you)
