What is worship U?
WorshipU is a free Bellevue Student Music Ministry program for select middle school, high school, and college-aged students. This program will equip students in their musicianship, empower them in their leadership, and encourage them in their walks with Christ as they train together weekly and lead worship regularly in Bellevue worship services.
During the Fall and Spring semesters, the WorshipU team meets every Thursday evening in the High School Assembly room from 4:30 to 5:00 for ministry and leadership training. Immediately following that time is an hour of group breakout rehearsals for both the vocalists and the instrumentalists, with the breakouts concluding at 6:00. This 90-minute weekly rehearsal is incredibly valuable both spiritually and musically for each student as they learn to leverage their giftings for the Kingdom of God.
WorshipU functions as an outlet for each student to begin living out their own calling here at Bellevue. Each team member is given worship leading opportunities in weekly services at Bellevue, including Shift, The Mix, Exit 15, and The Vue. Additionally, the team will be invited to lead worship in select Sunday Evening and Sunday Morning services.
Bellevue’s vision is “to be a catalyst for spiritual awakening in Memphis and beyond.” WorshipU is a program designed to help fulfill that vision as participating students learn to become the catalysts that God has called them to be here in our own city, as well as in the Mid-South, and beyond. Students who participate in WorshipU will have the musical skills and spiritual maturity to make an impact for Christ, no matter where the Lord leads them once there time as a student has come to a close.
