Ballet Lessons
Our ballet instructors teach girls the art and technique of ballet in a fun, encouraging, and Christ-centered environment. In addition to developing artistic excellence, students learn biblical truths and explore God’s character traits, including grace, courage, joy, hope, and faith.
Ballet classes meet throughout the school year and include:
- A 15-week fall semester.
- A 15-week spring semester.
- A fall performance of The Nutcracker.
- A spring program.
Ballet Attire and Costumes
Students are required to purchase certain attire for weekly classes:
- A specific leotard.
- Specific tights.
- A specific pair of ballet shoes.
The total cost is about $36 on Amazon. New students will receive purchasing information and links after they’ve been registered.
There is no additional costume fee for performances.
Each student will be provided with:
- One costume for the fall program (to be returned after the performance).
- One costume for the spring program (which the student may keep).
Class Options
Students who are new to Bellevue Ballet should read the descriptions below and register for the appropriate class level.
Please note: Class sizes are limited. Priority enrollment is given to returning students. Remaining openings are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
New to Bellevue Ballet With No Previous Experience
Ages 4–6
Please select a Pre-Ballet class of your choice during registration.
Students must be 4 years old by August 15, 2024, to enroll.
Ages 7+
Please select a Ballet 1 class of your choice during registration.
New to Bellevue Ballet With Previous Experience
Please review the descriptions below for Ballet 1, Ballet 2, and Ballet 3 (in the Class Schedules and Tuition section) and then register for the level that best fits your student’s experience and ability.
If you’re unsure which level is most appropriate, please contact the School of Performing Arts office, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
Please note: Instructors evaluate students based on skill level after classes begin to confirm proper placement.

Pre-Ballet (Ages 4–6)
For new students with no previous ballet experience

Ballet 1 (Ages 7+)
For new students or returning students with minimal ballet experience

Ballet 2 (Ages 7+)

Schedule Notes for Ballet 3, 4, and 5
Ballet 3, Ballet 4, and Ballet 5 classes meet for:
- All 15 weeks of the fall semester.
- All 15 weeks of the spring semester.
This equals 30 classes for the year.
The Thursday Ballet 3, Ballet 4, and Ballet 5 classes serve as an extension of the Monday or Tuesday class schedule. These Thursday classes:
- Begin during the sixth week of each semester.
- Continue for the remaining 10 weeks of the semester.
- Total 20 classes for the year.
Placement Policy
Age and prior experience are provided as general guidelines; however, class placement is ultimately decided by Bellevue Ballet staff and is determined by technical skill, ability, and physical development.
Bellevue Ballet reserves the right to move students to a different class level if needed to ensure appropriate placement.
