What is discipleship?

Bellevue’s mission is to love God, love people, share Jesus, and make disciples. Here are a few criteria for what it means to engage in discipleship:

Intentional

Disciple making is an intentional process of seeing Christians come to maturity. Maturity is not merely an accumulation of knowledge but rather a life of joyful, obedient devotion.

Transforming

Discipleship transforms you into the person Christ is calling you to be. D.L. Moody said, “You can draw a man no closer to Christ than where you are.” Through a disciple-making relationship, godliness can become a reality.

Relational

There are no lone rangers in the Body of Christ. We are called to be accountable to other Christians as we develop meaningful relationships with others and Jesus. Christ-centered disciple making is about becoming more like Jesus and obeying Him.

Bible-Based

You will be challenged to learn more about God’s Word as you take in Scripture regularly. There are no shortcuts to godliness.
