Cheering for Jesus

In the busyness and rush of day-to-day life, our perspective can narrow; we tend to focus on earthly matters, rather than eternal matters. Many times, the best way to widen our perspective is to look at our circumstances through the eyes of a child.

During the final Worship Rally of CampOutrageous 2021, on-stage performers presented the true story of the resurrection of Jesus. Campers anxiously awaited as the biblical story unfolded. As Jesus walked on stage, risen from the dead, over 2,000 kids cheered, unreserved and unashamed. They cheered for the miracle that occurred over 2,000 years ago and the hope and grace Jesus offers us every single day.

Matthew 18:35NIV tells us, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.” Let’s follow the example set by our campers; let’s cheer for the personhood and miracle of Jesus and the salvation He offers freely to each of us.

The key verse for this year’s CampOutrageous was Jeremiah 29:13NIV, which says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Let’s seek the Lord with our whole hearts, unreserved and unashamed, just like the children at CampOutrageous. We encourage you to gather your family to watch the CampOutrageous presentations online.
