Biblical Counseling Ministry Assistant
Biblical CounselingMajor Duties
- Daily: Answer phones, schedule appointments, and give directions to new counselees.
- Weekly: Process Confidential Safety Applications.
- Monthly: Send email reminders to counselors when tally sheets are due and report to supervisor.
- Seasonal: Provide details about Life Solutions Groups twice a year and submit requests for information updates on Bellevue’s website as needed.
- Rare: Contact the Minister on call when needed. Book hotel rooms and car rentals.
Administrative Duties
- Place orders for books.
- Order office supplies.
- Keep up with Bellevue credit cards; handle receipts and monthly reconciliation.
- Assist with the monthly forum training lunch.
- Help plan and execute the annual training conference.
- Schedule counselors and assign rooms.
- Coordinate the training observation room schedule.
- Oversee the schedules of volunteer counselors.
- Track employees’ vacation time and sick day requests.
- Ensure staff coverage of the Biblical Counseling office front desk.
- Keep time for the Biblical Counseling office in ADP.
- Schedule events in eSPACE.
- Onboard Biblical Counseling Ministerial Assistants (MAs) and handle communications with the Leadership Development team concerning MAs.
- Scan files; train others to complete dormant files.
- Manage all hiring paperwork and the hiring process.
Days/Hours
- Monday: 8:15 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Tuesday: 8:15 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Wednesday: 8:15 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Thursday: 8:15 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Often, the employee is encouraged to attend churchwide programming and other events that occur outside normal hours.

Requires repetitive typing (computer data entry) and sitting for long periods of time at a desk.

Education Required
High School Diploma; at least some college education preferred
Church Specifications
Active Bellevue membership
Specific Experience Required
Experience with data entry, Microsoft Excel and Word, and TouchPoint
Specific Skills Required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining professionalism and a servant spirit
- Ability to work independently and as a positive contributor to team efforts, especially by following up, following through, staying organized, and prioritizing tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- A proven history of success and a habit of excellence
Physical Abilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit at a computer, enter data, and view a monitor for several hours a day. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
