The Hospitality team models intentional hospitality and ministry excellence in all aspects of the ministry. As a member of the Hospitality team, the employee will be expected to support the efforts of the ministry even when assignments fall outside the job description.

Major Duties:

  • Help create a positive, God-centered, user-friendly, and welcoming environment at the Information Center.
  • Provide information and ticketing for various scheduled events at Bellevue.
  • Answer all incoming switchboard calls.

Specific Tasks:

  • Conduct general duties at the Information Center front desk, which includes gathering information of the events for the day.
  • Greet people entering the church and assist with their general needs, such as directions to different locations in the building and various other requests.
  • Make sure people have a good experience at Bellevue.
  • Field complaints shared by walk-ins or callers.
  • Assist transients and those with benevolence requests by contacting the Benevolence Minister or Minister on Call.
  • Keep the Information Center stocked with appropriate forms and supplies for weekdays, Sundays, and special events.
  • Keep accurate files, checklists, and training manuals for future reference.
  • Provide ticketing for Fellowship Supper, the Singing Christmas Tree, and other ticketed events.
  • Assist ministries with book sales and item drop-offs and pickups.
  • Process, settle, and balance sales at the Information Center and handle deposits with the Business office.
  • Provide various reports as needed, such as for Fellowship Supper and event ticket sales.
  • Answer and direct all incoming calls to the appropriate area in a professional manner, representing Bellevue Baptist Church.
  • Provide general information regarding worship services, special events, and programs.
  • Open and close the switchboard daily.
  • Prepare daily building-use reports.
  • Support the efforts of Hospitality Ministry even when assignments fall outside the job description.

Education Required:

High School Diploma or GED Diploma

Specific Experience and Skills Required:

  • Customer service experience
  • Computer experience, including with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent people skills, customer skills, and telephone skills
  • Willingness to be flexible with the work schedule
  • Ability to handle disgruntled people
  • Ability to demonstrate a cooperative and supportive relationship with co-workers
  • Church membership at Bellevue and a working knowledge of Bellevue, its departments, and its functions is preferred

Physical Abilities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
