Video Editor
MediaMajor Duties:
- Edit spots, features, and various other ministry projects.
- Maintain organization of shared storage.
- Assist with or run video shoots as needed.
- Assist with live video crew positions.
- Complete all other duties deemed necessary by the direct supervisor to achieve the mission of Bellevue Baptist Church.
Specific Tasks:
- Edit videos using the highest industry standards.
- Develop composites and title graphics.
- Collaborate in the planning and execution of video projects.
- Serve on shoot crews in various capacities.
- Run shoots and acquire B-roll as needed.
- Create shared storage drives and assist with organization.
- Serve on live event crews in various capacities.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in video production or three to five years of experience as a professional editor.
Certificate/License Required:
None
Specific Experience Required:
- Excellent theoretical and proven knowledge of editing techniques and application
- Understanding of visual balance and composition, especially involving graphics and typesetting
- Ability to take a concept to completion on a limited timeline with rigid deadlines
- Experience with end-to-end video editing, both long- and short-form, including multicam, audio, and graphics and a working understanding of animation software
Specific Skills Required:
- Proficiency in video editing using efficient and visually relevant styles
- High-level creativity, ability to outline ideas, and ability to develop an organized approach to storytelling
- Excellent reading, writing, and typing skills
- Organization skills and ability to be a self-starter
Physical Abilities:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Supervisor’s Philosophy:
The supervisor will give direct input when needed, but the employee is expected to work independently and proactively on a weekly basis.
Supervises:
No direct reports. However, the employee must exhibit leadership in the team’s visual style and production organization.
Co-Workers of this position:
The employee will work with all Media team members.
Days/Hours:
40 hours per week; typically Sunday through Thursday. However, the employee will often be expected to work late and on weekends as production needs dictate, especially during peak seasons and for large presentations like the Singing Christmas Tree and CampOutrageous.
Compensation Plan:
Salary. Exempt.

Safety/Ergonomic Issues:
The employee will occasionally work with heavy equipment, climb ladders, and other similar tasks. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:
Mostly standard control room conditions (70 degrees). Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, or loud noises.
