Would y’all please keep my dad in prayer between now and Monday evening especially? He is ready to quit. Because his cancer is so slow-growing, it is not life-threatening, but the symptoms, pain, insomnia, and side effects of his medications have become unbearable for him. I found out that he refused to take his latest radiation treatment even though it has successfully been shrinking his tumors. Because he has a tumor in his colon, eating causes pain. He can’t sleep. He has no energy because a tumor is causing fluid buildup (ascites) in his abdomen. He has lost so much weight that he is skin and bones at this point. He has basically been lying in bed almost full-time since last summer when the ascites started. (This condition causes extreme weakness and fatigue.) He is supposed to talk to the doctor about other treatment options on Monday. He has never done chemotherapy although that was discussed about 22 years ago. Please pray for him to sleep normally, for relief from pain, for wisdom for his doctor, for effective treatments, and for God to give him many more years here with us, serving Him. He is only 78 years old. Before the ascites started last summer, he was living a normal life for the last 21 years in spite of his tumors.
