Kellye has been teaching for 32 years and has long been passionate about education, whether in a classroom or at home with her own children. She strives to create a comfortable learning environment where students can grow in confidence and understanding. Kellye especially enjoys using interactive labs and hands-on activities to help students grasp difficult concepts. She is grateful for every opportunity to invest in students.

Julie Anderson-Malanga

Julie Anderson-Malanga

Julie joined the Bellevue Tutorial team in 2021 and brings teaching experience from many different settings. She has taught continuing education classes for multiple universities, most recently for Memphis College of Art, and has also taught in public schools, homeschool groups, colleges, and youth outreach programs. In addition, she has led workshops and private lessons. Julie holds both a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Arts in art education.

Kimberly Benson

Kimberly Benson

Tutorial Teacher

Kimberly loves Spanish language, culture, food, and history and is always happy to talk about them. A native Memphian, she graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in Spanish and later worked with Latino Memphis as a Spanish interpreter in a health department clinic. She has taught Spanish to homeschoolers, volunteered with Su Casa Family Ministries and Life Choices, and helps plan annual mission trips to a children's home in Guatemala through her church. Outside the classroom, Kimberly enjoys hot tea, time with family, and a good audiobook.

Lari Boswell

Lari Boswell

Lari is Bellevue Tutorial's resident Japanese expert. After studying Japanese in college, she lived in Japan for three years and later worked closely with Japanese staff members at Sharp Corporation. Her work included translating documents, interpreting in meetings, and helping the children of new arrivals learn English as they adjusted to American schools. A retired homeschool mom of 18 years, Lari is excited to invest in Bellevue Tutorial students.

Jenny Clayton

Jenny Clayton

Tutorial Teacher

Jenny earned a Bachelor of Science in education from Blue Mountain College and a Master of Education from the University of Mississippi. After teaching in the public school system for seven years, she began homeschooling and later tutored and directed a classical homeschool community for 10 years. She loves mountains, camping, hiking, exploring, and Jeep rides with her husband and two teenage sons. Jenny is grateful to be serving with Bellevue Tutorial for another year.

Macy Cross

Macy graduated from Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and worked as a pediatric oncology nurse for 12 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She is a homeschooling mother of six, and all of her children have attended Bellevue Tutorial. Macy also serves in the Children's and Next Gen Ministries at her church and loves encouraging students and families. In her free time, she enjoys baking, planning trips, and making memories with her family.

Amanda Desmarais

Amanda Desmarais

Amanda is a longtime homeschool parent and teacher who has homeschooled for 13 years and taught in homeschool communities since 2013. She loves helping students learn, grow in their gifts, and build confidence right where they are. Amanda holds bachelor's degrees in French from Rhodes College and in nursing from Union University. Before homeschooling full time, she worked as a nurse at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Becky earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ball State University and taught in public schools in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Jersey. After settling in Collierville with her husband and four children, she stepped into the world of homeschool tutorials in 2012 and has loved it ever since. Becky is a passionate, hands-on tutor who cares deeply for her students and their families. She is grateful to continue serving with the Bellevue Tutorial team.

Breezy has taught students of many ages in public, private, and homeschool settings. She is especially passionate about homeschooling because she was homeschooled herself through high school. Breezy brings a warm, encouraging presence to the classroom and truly loves her students. She also loves her family and her cat, Mitch.

Bryan Edmiston

Bryan Edmiston

Bryan Edmiston retired from Shelby County Schools in 2018 after teaching several high school subjects, including psychology. He now works as a financial representative with Legacy Financial, which connects naturally with his personal finance classes. Bryan grew up in Memphis, is active at Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, and has taught classes there on biblical stewardship. He and his wife have four grown children who were homeschooled for part of their education.

John holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Memphis and a Master of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. He has taught homeschool math to junior high and high school students for more than 10 years and has also taught Bible and history classes. John is a homeschool dad of three and serves as pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Bartlett. He loves helping students grow in both knowledge and confidence.

Bethany brings 30 years of teaching experience in private schools, colleges, and the homeschool community. For the past decade, she has served Memphis-area homeschool families through Bellevue Tutorial and has also taught ACT prep for 20 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in English education and a Master of Education, and she and her husband have been married for 30 years. Bethany is the mother of three young men and an active member of Memphis Bible Church.

Nicole holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Maryland and has more than 23 years of teaching experience in tutoring, homeschool co-ops, private schools, and cottage schools. Since joining Bellevue Tutorial in 2021, she has loved inspiring students through her passion for learning and her commitment to critical thinking. Nicole and her husband have been married for 24 years, and she homeschooled their five children for 15 years. She lives in Bartlett, where she is active at New Hope Christian Church and serves in the women's discipleship ministry.

Shannon has been teaching for nearly 25 years. She earned a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Memphis and a Master of Education from Union University, then spent 15 years in the public school system before moving into district-level work supporting, mentoring, and evaluating teachers. For the past 10 years, she has homeschooled her children. Shannon loves camping, thrifting, traveling, and spending time outdoors with her family, and she is excited to be part of the Bellevue Tutorial team again.

Charlie Moore

Charlie Moore and her husband, Steve, have been married for 26 years and began homeschooling in 2014. She serves as the graduation coordinator for Memphis-Area Home Education Association and enjoys supporting homeschool families in practical ways. Charlie loves the Bellevue Tutorial community and the opportunity to invest in students. A favorite verse for this season of her life is Proverbs 15:30: "Bright eyes cheer the heart; good news strengthens the bones."

Lauren Moretta

Lauren Moretta

Tutorial Teacher

Lauren graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science in Education and has completed more than 30 hours of graduate seminary coursework in Christian Education through The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Her love for teaching has grown through full-time ministry, teaching ESL to international students, and homeschooling her four children. She enjoys helping students understand every subject through a biblical worldview and currently teaches Bible, Health, and Nutrition. In her free time, Lauren enjoys trips to the Smoky Mountains, sports, historical fiction, and a good latte.

Leigh Ann holds a Bachelor of Science in Education with endorsements in math, computer programming, and business. She has taught every level of math from sixth grade through Calculus in both private school and homeschool settings. Mrs. Quick loves teaching math in the tutorial and helping students build confidence in the subject. She is also a longtime member of Bellevue Baptist Church and enjoys teaching children and preschoolers about Jesus.

Cheryle graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in Early Childhood Education and has worked in education for more than 26 years. Her experience includes public-school teaching, literacy leadership, instructional coaching, children's ministry, tutoring, and homeschooling. She loves God, children, teaching, and books, and especially enjoys working with middle and high school homeschool students. When she is not teaching or serving at church, she enjoys spending time with her family and exploring new places.

Jetta graduated from Mississippi State University with a B.S. in Physics/Chemistry Education and has taught high school math and science for 22 years in public schools, private schools, homeschool groups, and online settings. She and her husband, Brian, have three children and have homeschooled for 23 years. Jetta is a member of Millington First Baptist Church. Her hobbies include flowers, trees, birds, books, chess, and being a very committed soccer mom.

Dorann earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Mississippi before realizing she was called to work with children and students. She later completed a Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of Memphis and taught in public education for six years. Dorann then began homeschooling her two sons, and since then she has taught and served students of all ages. She is passionate about helping children develop a genuine love of learning.

Angie grew up in a farming community in southern Arkansas and still loves visiting her parents' farm there. She and her husband, Bryan, have been married for 23 years and have six homeschooled children. Angie holds a degree in education from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and has long sensed a calling to teach. She loves teaching science at Bellevue Tutorial and helping students see how science reflects the beauty, glory, and order of God's creation.

Heather Smith

Heather Smith

Heather earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Memphis in 2005 and has been teaching in a variety of settings for the past 20 years. Her experience includes public-school classroom teaching in grades 1, 2, 7, and 8, as well as K–5 reading and math intervention. Inspired by her grandmother's example, Heather has loved teaching for as long as she can remember. She now homeschools her teenage children and is grateful to keep pursuing that calling through Bellevue Tutorial.

Kress Smith

Multi-Sensory Reading Tutor

Kress is an Orton-Gillingham-trained literacy tutor who approaches learning with both faith and compassion. A Union University graduate, she has spent the last decade homeschooling her children and has experienced firsthand how challenging reading can be for some learners. That experience, combined with her Orton-Gillingham training, led her to help other families through a sequential, multisensory approach rooted in the science of reading. Kress loves helping students grow into more confident and capable readers.

Jeff has taught U.S. history, world history, and government/economics for 25 years. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Pensacola Christian College and a Master of Arts from the University of West Florida. In addition to teaching, Jeff leads Bible classes for both teens and adults at his church. When he is not in the classroom, he enjoys farm life in Brownsville and working on a God in World History radio program for Uganda and Rwanda.

Jess has had students in IEW for nine years and has been teaching it for the last five. She is passionate about helping students think critically, communicate well, and see God in every area of life.

She has homeschooled for 20 years and has taught at Bellevue Tutorial for the past five years. Tracy enjoys traveling with her family and cheering on her children at basketball games. She is grateful for the opportunity to invest in students through Bellevue Tutorial.
